Role Purpose:

The Keolis Bus Operator will transport our customers in a safe, friendly and prudent manner, in accordance with all city, county, state and federal laws, as well as company rules and policies. They will care for our customers by assisting all persons in their care. Keolis bus drivers operate on an assigned route transporting passengers to and from designated locations and stops, as well as related activities in a safe and timely manner.  This position focuses on fixed route AND non-emergency medical transportation.



Knowledge and Experience

  • Must be able to report to work on-time, in a clean, neat uniform, ready to work
  • Perform and complete vehicle Pre & Post-Trip Inspections; Radio check his/her buses radio before leaving yard – report departure from and arrival to base daily
  • Report any vehicle corrections to Dispatch and or Maintenance Dept.
  • Operates various types of vehicles and routes on-time, as assigned, safely, in all types of weather and traffic conditions
  • Operator must have excellent Customer Service
  • Follow fare collection procedures
  • Observe and obey all posted speed limits and traffic laws
  • Maintain a current Commercial Driver’s License current, DOT Card
  • Document all times, passenger counts, incidents, or any other information
  • Maintain proper two-way Radio Etiquette at all times
  • Ability to interact with public positively; provide transit information to passengers
  • Adhere to all regulations related to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); correctly operate a wheelchair lift with proper safety restraints as required by the customer
  • Drive at all times with their lap/shoulder belt on
  • Strict adherence to Keolis and client policies and procedures
  • Submit accurate written reports on accidents, incidents or unusual occurrences as required
  • Maintain a secure environment for passengers; escort riders to and from the vehicle and provide physical assistance to passengers, when requested
  • Exercise patience and sensitivity toward all passengers and practice professionalism in action and speech to family members, staff at offices and agencies, and the public
  • Verifiable CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with a Passenger Endorsement.
  • Customer Service Experience a plus.
  • High degree of comfort working with people with disabilities.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test and DOT physical.
  • Possess excellent communication (written and verbal) and decision making skills.
  • Work as needed
  • Other requirements may be required depending on location.

Additional Statements

Drug and alcohol screening: Employment contingent upon passing pre-employment drug and alcohol screen. Also, contingent upon receiving a favorable background check. Must pass a physical examination.
