Business Development Manager


Keolis, an international operator of public transportation systems, is seeking qualified candidates for a Business Development Manager role. Reporting to the VP of Commercial Development, duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the Commercial VP in market research and relationship development with Public Transit organizations, cities, private sector partners, etc.
  • Identifying and developing partnership opportunities with consultants, vendors, technology providers, etc. in target markets
  • Maintaining/documenting detailed information arising from research and development activities
  • Playing a key role in reporting on development efforts and activity, including pipeline management
  • Qualifying opportunities and providing supportable recommendations on the prioritization of development efforts
  • Supporting the coordination of subject matter expert involvement in the business development process
  • Working closely with the bid team to transfer knowledge from the market development team to team members preparing RFP responses
  • Playing a key role in the preparation for client interactions, including the creation of presentations, interview management, transit conference strategies, etc.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills, being able to work effectively with all levels of employees across the organization and prospective clients as necessary
  • Ability to represent the Company as a public speaker
  • A desire to be actively involved with industry organizations such as APTA
  • Ability to work under pressure and to adhere to strict deadlines
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Business Suite (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Pro. Graphic design abilities are a plus
  • Experience with CRM a plus
  • Experience interacting with public transit officials, boards, and other local stakeholders a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience in public transportation preferred
